Images can communicate effectively and deliver an immediate impact. We use our own images, usually taken using a professional Canon camera whilst we work.

Often you will see the same images on many carpet cleaning websites as you search for services, this can sometimes be a strong indicator that you are looking at a lead generation website.

A site simply set up to attract customers and then your details are often sent to service providers in your area.

Lead generation websites will often try to convince you that they are actually the service provider, trying to get you to use contact forms to gather your information.

So in essence, you have no idea who you will be getting a quotation from. Most people want to know who will be coming into their home to work.

These websites will be highlighting local phone numbers too, sometimes the person answering will be based in another country!

By clicking accept cookies / terms you will be agreeing for this to happen.

Lead generation websites are there to generate money for its producers, its that simple.

As long as someone is paying them for the lead then its likely that your details will be passed on.

Sometimes its not easy to spot a lead generation company from a local service provider.

Its just about money

When calling you will probably be greeted by a call handler, someone who will not have any experience or ability to answer any questions relating to the service that you are seeking.

At this point people can get frustrated when they are in a conversation with someone who is there simply to convert them into a client.

After all, you called to speak to a carpet cleaning company after searching for carpet cleaners online.

National companies pretending to be local

After 30 years in the business we have seen this type of online advertising become more popular.

You visit a website relating to carpet cleaning in your area. After looking around the website you have seen good reviews and an address close to your location.

Boxes are being ticked, all is looking good.

How national companies work.

As with lead generation companies, national companies will use a lot of generic (stock photos)

A local address will also be mooted at the foot of the page that you are on.

Did you know that big companies are actually displaying local addresses that don’t exist?

This is simply dishonest. The address is created to simply get your call.

Some companies will be based up to 100 miles away from your location.

You are part of a numbers game! Companies will often send along operatives having little or no experience.

But how about the reviews?

Are the reviews real?

People don’t realise that many reviews found online are fake. Here is a message from a fake review provider that we received on 23rd July this year. Trying to sell us reviews.

Once again, large companies are doing their best to get your call, at any cost!

For a few dollars you can buy fake reviews. Some companies advertise that they has tens of thousands of reviews. How genuine are they?

Purchased reviews are often short with no user image who has posted a few reviews.

Its done in a bulk transaction. Again this practice is misleading and a tool used to trick people into thinking that companies are credible.

Above shows what a genuine google review looks like. A detailed description of service provided and even images showing the before and after service.

As with this review, sharing their experience when speaking to other businesses advertising services in the area.

Finding carpet cleaners online can be a minefield. This post was produced to genuinely try and help people seek out the best service providers in their area.

Often large companies won’t have a google business page too. This will immediately give away their true location.

NCCA logo
