Rug Cleaning

Rug cleaning throughout Sussex.
Natural carpet care are collecting rugs throughout Sussex most days. From Brighton to Rye. We are fully insured and certified by the National Carpet Cleaners Association too.
Here is an image of a dusty and dirty rug we cleaned in our workshop recently. When it arrived colours were lifeless and hard to see.
We started with a full rug beat / dust to remove dry soil. This is always a revelation, astonishing quantities of dust are always removed.
We the vacuum the facing fibres, this removes the remaining debris and opens the rug fibres.
HOW WE WORK – OUR CLEANING PROCESS
Our effective cleaning solution is then applied directly to the rug, with a dwell time of 15 minutes, is agitated in using a professional counter rotating brush system. This has a positive effect on stripping the fibres of any remaining hair or fluff. It also brushes out deeper stains, in addition, fibres are also brushed up too.
We will then employ our cleaning / rinsing process. This is where the colours start to return, clear and vivid. The image above is a great example.
After rinsing the rugs are placed in our drying room. Whilst the are hanging we treat rug fringes. Restoring them back to bright white.
Rugs cleaned offsite will receive a far better clean.
Rug dusting / beating can’t take place in your home. If we did beat them in your home we wouldn’t be welcomed back again as dust deposits will fly everywhere.
This rug shows its crisp / clean white fringes after cleaning. On returning this rug to its owner they were delighted. Colours strong and bright, fibres clean and soft and fringes looking as they did originally.
RUG DRYING ROOM
Rugs hung in our drying room before being returned to their owners. Before returning a rug we make sure that they are completely dry. They hang in our drying room for two days.
After cleaning, its important for the fibres to dry. hey are then inspected before being returned to their owners. We can fit up to 9 rugs in our drying room at any one time.
One of the big reasons for buying our commercial premises. For this reason, rug cleaning is a busy part of our business.
What makes up the dust that is removed from rugs?
We remove lots of dust from the rugs that we clean, but what contributes to the dust removed?
- Skin cells
- Domestic cleaning sprays
- Paint
- Fuel dust
- Mud
- Sand
- Hair
- Detergent
- Dust mites
- Flea eggs
- Dust mite excrement
- Carbon (fires / log burners)
- Finger nails
- Body oils
This was a close up of a pile of dust / hair removed from a fairly small area rug. Our first impressions of the rug were that it didn’t need too much attention, but how wrong we were!
Once we started rug dusting / beating it became clear that the fibres were full. After a full 30 minutes of beating we stopped to begin the cleaning / rinsing process. Again our client was very happy with the end result, which was a soft & fresh rug.
Recent rug cleaning projects
Here is a rather lovely rug that we had in our workshop for cleaning. When we first unrolled the rug, colours were dull and difficult to see.
After considerable rug fibre preparation and agitation we started to rinse clean.
As you can see from our picture, the rug responded superbly. Looking almost new again.
Or process will also condition the fibres, leaving them soft, feeling as they used to.
Dirt and spillages can bond fibres, making them feel almost starchy.
After a day in our drying room, the rug was inspected and rolled ready for return.
Our client was absolutely delighted. So much so, she recommended us to four friends! Leaving us a lovely review also.
